The new catalogue has been presented at the Joint Annual Meeting of the Genetic Society of Chile (SOCHIGEN) and the Chilean Society of Evolution (SOCEVOL) 2023, held from 16-20 October at the University of Talca, Chile.

The “COVID-19 Genomic Network” offers the scientific community an extensive catalogue of biological samples and associated information from the Biorepository associated with the C19-GenoNet study of Persistent COVID.

The aim of this project is to identify and map genetic variation associated with susceptibility to and severity of COVID-19 disease symptoms.

The project has been carried out thanks to funding from the ACT210085 Ring Project, “COVID-19 Genomics Network (C19-GenoNet)” and the FONDEQUIP EQM210020 Project, “Integrated System of Informatics Services for Research and Innovation in Biomedicine and Clinical Data”.

“For our research team, the launch of the catalogue has been the result of a great interdisciplinary work effort of several university institutions from all over the country. This tool makes available to the scientific community all the biological samples and the diverse information available in the first Chilean Biobank Network COVID-19” – Alicia Colombo, MSc, PhD. Scientific Director of the Tissue and Fluid Biobank of the University of Chile and alternate director of C19-GenoNet.

“We are proud that Red Genómica has relied on NorayBanks Catalogue technology for this pioneering project in Latin America that facilitates researchers’ access to samples managed by the RED” – Marta Acilu. Director of NorayBio Software

NorayBanks Catalogue is a web solution in which the activity of a biobank or an institution can be made visible, its catalogue of collections can be published and the requests for samples received from the scientific community can be managed in their entirety.
